Hello, my name is Eigyung Nam! You can call me Amy as well. I’m a passionate mathematician, artist, sociable, foodie and a lot more.

I’m in a British International school located in Bangkok called ‘Bangkok International Preparatory and Secondary School’. Living in my new life after moving from Korea to Thailand as significantly changed my life and without hesitation, I can say how amazing it’ll be to start another new chapter as I take the next step up into university.

My school day typically begins with friendly greetings to my friends and teachers whenever I see them walking pass me on my way upstairs. Then, I attend my chosen three subject classes: 'physics, maths and design technology’. Following that, we have non-contact period exclusively for year 12s and 13s, which allows us to engage in independent study.

While It might seem like a normal school life, which it mostly is, I always experience amazing things happening in my school life.

2023 - Present / Team Member

- Organize weekly meetings during lunch hours over the course of a year, focusing on event planning within the team.

- Led a 5-member team in the implementation of the Eco Brick Project, utilizing plastic bottles filled with waste materials to create bricks, and created promotional posters for the initiative.

- Orchestrated a bake sale involving both faculty and students, selling homemade strawberry beverages and providing discounts for bringing water bottles.

- Reduced plastic waste in the school by over 30% after just one year of focused initiatives.

2023 - Present / Project coordinator

- Initiated communication with head teachers to secure morning presentation slots for displaying event posters. This increased visibility and participation in our cultural events.

- Maintained a detailed spreadsheet to track attendees and purchasers of event tickets, ensuring accurate record-keeping.

- Coordinated with the school library to set up booths during break and lunch hours, making it convenient for students to purchase tickets for upcoming events.

- Introduced a performance awards program that included the creation of "Oscar-style" awards and certificates to acknowledge outstanding performances and contributions to the enrichment program.

 - Engaged in regular practice sessions, including both school practices (twice a week) and personal practice (once a week) to enhance skills and teamwork.

 - Actively participated in friendly matches with friends, contributing to skill development and teamwork.

- Enthusiastically participated in the school's Summer Sports Camp during the summer break, committing to three weeks of daily involvement.

 - Engaged in a diverse range of sports activities, including basketball, football, tennis, swimming, volleyball, and badminton, to broaden skill sets and experience in various sports disciplines.

 - Recognized for exceptional performance in tennis at the camp and invited to join the school's tennis club as an extension of the summer camp experience.

 - Formed and led a three-person team to volunteer at the Bangkok Community Service Help, where we contributed by sorting and categorizing donated materials into various groups, including clothing, toys, towels, and miscellaneous items. Approximately 15-20 boxes of donations were sorted during each session.

 - Demonstrated flexibility and initiative by participating in both school-based and external community service activities.

 - Assisted in the scheduling process, where students received their timetables and then accompanied them to meet with teachers for counseling, presentations, and interviews.

 - Key figure in facilitating a smooth transition for new students into the school community.
